Have you Filled out Your "Owner-Occupied" Tax Form?

Thanks for joining us today. Today we are talking about taxes. If you were ever curious, taxes in our area are available online. If you ever wonder what the assessed value is on your home or how much your tax bill is, you can look at it directly online.

In Minnehaha County, the address is MinnehahaCounty.org. For Lincoln County, the website is LincolnCountySD.org. Here you can find information on your property, including taxes, square footage, and what your home is assessed at. 

We also wanted to send out a reminder for those of you that have purchased your home between Nov. 1st of last year, and Oct. 31st of this year. If you purchased a home during this time, you have to file what is called an "Owner-Occupied" tax form that allows you to receive a tax reduction of up to 25%.

You will have to fill this form out, then take it directly to the county office and they will stamp it for you. This is the only proof you need to get the owner-occupied tax reduction. 

You have to file this form between Nov. 1st of this year and March 15, 2015. We sent out a copy to all of our clients, but if you need one, we can send it to you. Just give us a call or send us an email and we will get that form to you. We look forward to hearing from you!
